From an Open Source Magazine to Evolutionary Media to a Rewards Card, and Back?

From the EvolverProject, "It is no longer about knowing what is wrong. It is about becoming what is right. It is about integrating logic and heart, vision and will. It is about making life juicier by making good ideas real. A new world is springing up around us, of visionary politics and liberating hacks, earthly communities and galactic highs ... "new news" ... focusing on active solutions, helpful products, new social movements, and do-it-yourself designs ... open-source group-mind and creative meta-media, designed to creatively and quickly respond to our rapidly changing times ... a model for a passionate planetary culture, one jacked up on collaboration, connection, and exuberant renewal."

To Reality Sandwich, "a web magazine for this time of intense transformation. Our subjects run the gamut from sustainability to shamanism, alternate realities to alternative energy, remixing media to re-imagining community, holistic healing techniques to the promise and perils of new technologies. We hope to spark debate and engagement by offering a forum for voices ranging from the ecologically pragmatic to the wildly visionary (which, to our delight, sometimes turn out to be the one and the same). Counteracting the doom-and-gloom of the daily news, Reality Sandwich is a platform for voices conveying a different vision of the transformations we face. Our goal is to inspire psychic evolution and a kind of earth alchemy." UPDATED!

Or, EVO, "a new membership program that connects you to the most environmentally and ethically sound goods and services - and to other people who share your vision."

Daniel Pinchbeck Interview by Tim Boucher [NY] | Part I | Part II

From: "Metacine.Tribe.Net" has this update:
TITLE CHANGE > NOW 'EVOLVER'

Previous Installment:
How about a "Free Culture" Metacine? FutureHi has this article on their new 'collaborative' magazine for the New Edge presenting "a" paradigm for a new planetary culture. "...solutions to many...problems already exist. What is required is a quantum leap in consciousness, a mind-shift, that can give us the inspiration, will, and practical tools to make our highest visions into reality." UPDATED

Sample Article from Metacine:
Beyond the Singularity by Daniel Pinchbeck

Bioremediation and Alternative Economies are two of the first topics to be addressed in it.

Business Plan | The Goal of Metacine

"Metacine Magazine and Metacine Online cover the full spectrum of themes which constitute the New Edge of thought a current of ideas with the potential to transform the individual as well as the society in which we live. This spectrum includes, among other things: esoteric practices, yoga, meditation, psychedelics, shamanism, dream work, alchemy, indigenous culture, sustainability, bioremediation, alternative economics, spiritual transformation, mythology, cosmology, Jungian archetypes and work with "the Shadow," non-ordinary states of consciousness, relationships and sexuality, child raising and education, augmented social networks and community, reconnecting with indigenous cultures, climate change and planetary transition, "The Singularity," the calendar and new models of time, the biology of transcendence, Burning Man culture, reimagining our institutions and social structures, new paradigms of health and medicine, contemporary ideas in scientific thought (nanotechnology, biotechnology, quantum physics, etc.), futurism, art and aesthetics, pacification and non-violence, creative expressions of pragmatic utopianism.

The purpose of Metacine is to elevate the discourse on subjects related to what we are calling the "New Edge" of contemporary thought. Therefore, the kind of writing we would ideally like to see would be of a comparable quality to The New Yorker or Harper's Magazine focused, clear, exploring a particular thesis or chronicling a timely subject. Personal essays will also be a focus - exploring the new paradigm from the individual's subjective perspective.

For all contributions Metacine asks for one-time and archiving rights to your work, which means you retain copyright and can use it again elsewhere, however the work will remain permanently available on the site. From time to time Metacine Online may use contributions for open-source, reprint, copyleft or remixing projects, but we will ask your permission first if this occurs.

There is no financial compensation for contributing to Metacine Online, but we will endeavour to promote you and your work (linking to books and websites, etc). At the present time, there is also no compensation for appearing in the print journal but we hope to offer fair market rates when it is possible to do so. You will receive two copies of the magazine in which your work appears. We aim to respond to all submissions but please don't hate us if we can ít!"
