* Open Computing [7] is a project dedicated to the development of free and open source software to meet users’ computer needs, and to make the computing infrastructure and hardware architecture transparent to users. Given that access to computers and information is one of the critical democratization struggles of the 21st century, akin to the struggles for suffrage, civil rights, and other challenges of yesteryear, it is critical that open access to the democratic control of worldwide computing infrastructures and networks remain in the control of people, not private interests. Any effort that supports the democratic use of computer technology is worth supporting. To this end, promoting open and free access to software, as well as open standards and open hardware architectures, is the goal of this project.
* Open Farm [8] Project focuses on creating access to sustainable, healthy, and affordable food. The basis of this project includes acquiring land upon which to develop an integrated and sustainable agricultural production, research, and education center. The purpose is to improve our local food system, decreasing our community's dependence on food that is highly processed, is grown unsustainably, and travels hundreds, often thousands of miles before it reaches our plates. In turn, a localized food system increases the potential for a healthy community through cooperation, connection to our natural surroundings, and access to holistic food.
* Open House [9] project aims to collect and disseminate a large set of knowledge aimed at implementing best practice in the production of housing, expressed as a business incubator for a replicable development firm with a primary goal of sustainability and regenerative design. The audience is social and civic entrepreneurs dedicated to regenerative development, as well as any individual interested in increasing their participation in the house building process.
* Open Transport [10] Vehicle Conversions Using Proven Technologies...
They derive their organization's name from a concept which refers to the integration of the natural, societal, and industrial ecologies- Open Source Ecology- aiming at sustainable and regenerative economics. They are convinced that a possibility of a quality life exists, where human needs are guaranteed to the world's entire population- as long as we ask ourselves basic questions on what societal structures and productive activities are truly appropriate to meeting human needs for all. At the end of the day, the goal is to liberate our time to engage in exactly that which each of us wants to be doing- instead of what we need to do to survive. All have the potential to thrive. Today, an increasingly smaller percentage of the world's population is in this position.
