Edward Scissorhands was lauded for his skill in the art of topiary. Arborsculpture is an art form utilizing the live tree trunk as the medium. By grafting, bending, framing and multiple planting. Imaginify growing useful, solid, flowering, fruiting, seasonally changing kinetic works of art and architecture.

"Arborsculpture is a unique art form that has been called
the ultimate branch of topiary with the potential to save the environment.
There are other words and terms that are used to describe this art.
Pleaching, grafting, permaculture, tree trunk topiary, botanical art,
botanical architecture, biotechture, living art, visionary art, and really weird."

With a great many futurists pointing us in the direction of a artificially modified future, more and more eco-futurists are painting a different potential. Here are a few examples appearing throughout history;

Arborsculpted chairs [8] were grown for China's Emperor 1000 years ago. It was seen in the minature paintings of Johannes Perreal, circa 1516. "The term "Organic Architecture" was invented by the great architect, Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959), from Organic Architect [9].

"So here I stand before you preaching organic architecture: declaring organic architecture to be the modern ideal and the teaching so much needed if we are to see the whole of life, and to now serve the whole of life, holding no traditions essential to the great TRADITION. Nor cherishing any preconceived form fixing upon us either past, present or future, but¬ăinstead¬ăexalting the simple laws of common sense¬ăor of super-sense if you prefer¬ădetermining form by way of the nature of materials..." - Frank Lloyd Wright, An Organic Architecture, 1939

Frank Lloyd Wright used the word organic to describe his philosophy of architecture. It was an extension of the teachings of his mentor, Louis Sullivan, whose slogan "form follows function" became the mantra of modern architecture. Wright changed this phrase to "form and function are one," claiming Nature as the ultimate model."

Advantages (from Treedome.com [12]) of Arborsculpture:
• Experiencing nature opens environmental awareness.
• Cooperation plant/human :
• Waste water and compostable rubbish is no longer pollution. It is food for the home.
• According to the treespecies you can harvest fruits on top of your dome or you can cut firewood as a yearly cutting.
• Symbiosis: What you breath out (CO2) the tree breath in.
• Cheap building materials, cheap building (planting) site.
• The whole building is full compostable.
• No waste dumped for further generations.
• Positive impacts on the inhabitant: conection to Earth & harmony
• For manager and decision-makers: the living situation will support your power of creating total new business visions.
